The Benefice of Newnham, Awre and Blakeney is easily reached by the A48, and the 3 parishes lie adjacent to the River Severn.

Newnham

Newnham is situated at the top of the village, we are open for visitors each day. The Parish serves the community and offers a variety of services for everyone, from traditional BCP worship with canticles and psalms, to Common Worship, Iona, Taize and family services. Often we have extra special services which take place in the community. These have included our popular outdoor Nativity, St Francis Pet Blessing, Easter Vigil, Ice Cream Sundae and many more.

We work closely with the Church Primary School, and hold services each month in church for the whole school on the last Thursday at 8.45am.

We have a Kid’s Activity Club which is very popular, that meets on the 4th Saturday at 3-4.30pm.
There are 2 house groups which meet for prayer and study every week.
There is a mid week Communion each Thursday at 10.15am followed by coffee.
We have bell ringers who ring on 8 bells.
We also have popular Church Lunches, on the 1st Saturday of each month between 12-2pm.

Awre

Awre is a rural community situated off the A48, about 1.5miles from Newnham. The village has many farms, cider houses and art and pottery studios. The Church is warm and friendly, and has a variety of service styles to suit everyone. Family Holy Communion, Morning Worship, Cafe Church and All Age Worship services. The village celebrates the seasons very well, and thrives on Harvest and Rogationtide, when the parishioners climb aboard tractors and have a travelling service around the bound of the parish.

There is a House group that meets for prayer and study every fortnight, and a weekly mid morning prayer meeting every Thursday at 9.15am.

There are bell ringers who ring on 6 bells.

Blakeney

Blakeney is a busy village. The Church stands proud on the main bend of the A48 and is hard to miss. The church has a congregation who are very supportive of the church. The services range from BCP Communion to Common Worship. The Church has a strong tradition of memorial services, and hosts the benefice annual service at All Souls Tide. Its popular flower and Christmas Tree festivals are also well received by the local community. There is a monthly BCP Communion which enables the congregation to come together for a more traditional style of worship.
